Don't wait. Amuse yourself by running out, slaughter a couple of stilt-walkers, and walk back in. Lots of people are now walking in. The crouch-walk seems to be an easy way to hold the movement button/lever thingy flat out, without having to move and hold to a walk. It was working for me 9 time out of 10 tries. Now it's about 1 out of 3 , as player number have decreased or moved on. Still, it seems to be a lot better than just waiting. Don't ask me why! Ask the bloke who wrote the code.
