If at ANY point everyone is dead the event fails. It sometimes takes 10 secs to tell you but trust me if everyone is down even for a second it fails. I have been in the situation testing this theory and had someone waiting by the terminal and they put in a key immediately after i died (other members already dead) yet still fail. Even tho he was in the room fighting with the adds. I hope that clears things up :)
