This "virus" just seems to be a way to get people who are not yet level 40 to that level with the extra XP gains and a good way to get people talking about this game just because the release of Rise Of Iron. I dont think it is any more then that.

agrees... Destiny use to have on twitch like 30,000 viewers at any given time, and then YR 2 came and at the end of yr 2 , twitch viewers for destiny were hardly hitting 3000 viewers at any given time. Hence Private Matches = Competitions and then more likely it will be OH MLG where have you been, we'd like to join this massive free marketing money making PVP thingamayjig. lol BRING MORE PVE , PVP I KNOW WHY but please more PVE... PVP is over rated and trust me bungie PVE does create money maybe not at the same rate that PVP Competitions can but Hey Starcraft wasnt all online PVP

yes but overall viewers would be like 6000 max, when it use to be like 30,000 viewers in total for destiny streams... starcraft 2 still gets 10 of thousands of viewers and its like how old now? DESTINY DID PIRVATE MATCHS TO JOIN THE MLG HYPE TRAIN. Destiny does not care as much about PVE ....

lol well considering every game that has made it big has had PVE i think PVE is still a winner... Very few games are only PVP AND THAT LAST THE TIME...

that was my initial thought too - but the boons don't seem to boost you that much. i've been using un-upgraded weapons and they don't seem to be leveling any faster than normal.

I played pvp with a friend last night who had a level 11 character. End of the night he was level 40. Boon was good for him

Yeah you are right, I haven't seen a big difference in gains and I have all 5.

I can confirm that the infections give you 37.48% extra XP, it makes no difference if you have 1 or 5. also, Focused Light stacks with the infection buff giving you 100.16% extra, basically Double XP.
