I completely agree with you. Even though I'm on current gen, I can definitely see that IB and Trials would be missed by previous gen players. Even if it had to be automated, I think it would be a great idea. The one thing that I saw about your idea that was a little… well… unattainable… was the y1 infusion. Bungie wants previous gen players to keep playing Destiny, and does so by transferring their accounts to current gen. If y1 infusion became a thing for previous gen, when players transferred over, y1 infused weapons would be in the current gen, and at risk of balance, would never be allowed. All this to say, I like the idea of giving something commemorative to legacy consoles, but I don't think y1 infusion is the way to do it.
