That's what I've been saying. Rise of Iron, at least story-wise, is looking like nothing but filler, with a new "raid weapon" and an enemy faction that's just modified assets from another enemy faction. We're fighting an enemy we haven't heard of until now, on a new region of a planet we can already visit, in an expansion that wasn't really a thing until Destiny 2 got delayed. Filler. So yeah, entirely skippable. I can understand Bungie not marketing it that way, but it's still skippable. Just avoid Rise of Iron and upgrade for Destiny 2 as it SHOULD have been.
