Has anyone had odd experiences with roommates. Not necessarily with bad roommates, just odd ones. For example, I roomed with a guy for three years that didn't realize his family was very upper-middle class. Apparently, he grew up in several houses with statues in the front yard and one had polished copper tiles on the roof. Once, when a group of us were driving through Clintonville he asked aloud, "Where does everybody live? All I see are shacks". Those 'shacks' were nicer and bigger than some of our houses. He also never understood why we could only afford cheaper laptops for school instead of custom ordering one. In addition, this guy has neither eaten a cheeseburger nor lasagna nor even heard of pot roast before. We joked he was only fed caviar from a golden spoon as a child. He was actually a great roommate, we just had to explain a lot of what we consider normal things to him.
