Conservative: *gets hit by car* *Calls cops*
Police: "Hello, sir, what's wrong."
Conservative: "A man hit me."
Police: "A man assaulted you? Where are you?"
Conservative: "He didn't assault me, he hit me. I'm on the intersection of FDR and Churchill by the way."
Police: "The intersection, huh? Sir, were you hit by a car?"
Conservative: "Cars don't hit people."
Police: "What?"
Conservative: "People hit people."
Police: "Sir, be clear. Did a man punch you or were you hit by a car?"
Conservative: "Neither."
Police: "For Christ's sake, just tell me what happened."
Conservative: "A man hit me with his car."
Police: *Hangs up*

See, when a person is drunk and hits with a car, what do you do? Do you restrict the people's rights to buy cars? No, you crack down on drunk driving and bartenders who serve drunks. So, if someone shoots people with a gun, should you restrict people's rights to buy guns? No, you should create stricter guidelines and increase the intensity of background checks.
