Considering that Destiny was originally advertised for ps3 and 360 it would have been a gigantic dick move to say "Lol you know that game you pre-ordered and that beta you were waiting for....well -blam!- you and your money, we are just going to ps4 and xbox one"
Also, try to remember that up until a year ago most games on ps4 and xbox one were complete trash or ports, very few were exceptions to this.
