You'd be surprised.
Edit: Destiny Tracker suggests there have been over 8 million active users in the past 15 minutes [across current gen and past gen].
Edit: 76% of which contributes to the Crucible.

When you go to twitch Destiny doesn't have a lot of live streams and when you play crucible it takes a while to find 12 players. Last night I played a couple of matches and we never went in as a full team.
