Why is there radiant heat at about 3 degrees K in space. Heat can't be transferred through nothing as it travels in waves and all waves need some kind of medium to travel through - what's the medium in space

    Space. Heat is just light. As you can tell by looking up, light can travel through space just fine. Sound waves need a medium, not light. Besides this, there is a minimum energy level that any point in space can attain. Absolute zero does not exist. Evidence of this is found within quantum chromodynamics, where we can pull a particle out of "empty" space.
