Quite a few people I know have been getting hostbooted recently when doing well in Trials of Osiris and it's making me wonder how much of this is going on all together in the game world!? I've had it done to me, when we were in an 8-0 run with no mercy left. My friend had it done to him the other day on a high win card, and another friend watched her team mate hostbooted while afk for a moment at the start of a match by an enemy player stood in front of him (wielding thier ghost to view his profile)! For those that don't know: Hostbooting is when a player sources your IP address via messages, PSN or a special program on a separate computer, then they send an overload of useless data to your router causing it to disconnect and "boot" you from the game. This requires a router power reboot and console restart to allow you to connect again and can sometimes even damage the router itself. It's getting ridiculous the extent people will go to just to ensure they go flawless and not hurt their "precious ELO" ranking! Is there anything that can be done to stop it or at least BAN players that practice this disgusting method of cheating? Comment below if you've had it happen to you! ?
