It can be done with basic calculus that I'd imagine would be taught in any first Calc course. A 1-torus is just basically an ideal donut. The coordinate system part just means I want it done using the xy-plane rather than xyz or some other coordinate system that could possibly make it easier.

Like I said, I wasn't bright when it came to math, I almost failed math in my senior year. Then again, that was probably due to my caffeine addiction as I had a hard time staying awake in the morning.
