You also seem to be confusing grinding a little to grinding for week and all I can say I've gotten is experience and one useful piece of gear.

You can literally complete the challenge daily and get a piece of high end gear. And it's guaranteed. Complete hard modes and grind for 30 minutes a day in the DZ and you'll have enough for more. It's way more forgiving than Destiny. If you've grinded for 1 week and haven't gotten one piece you're either not level 30 or you need to rethink how you play the game.
