People are too sensitive. I think it's completely wrong to make fun of someone (who you aren't friends with) for things they can't help. Calling black people "ni[i]gg[/i]ers" in a serious and negative context or making fun of retarded people for being retarded is obviously a horrible thing to do. That being said, people shouldn't be crucified for using these words in different contexts. Making jokes, referring to the words, and using them colloquially should not be frowned upon. For example, saying something is "retarded" or "gay" does not mean that you are using these words as slurs. It's just slang. People need to learn what context is.
