This is just a theory, so ya know, keep an open mind I know... that destiny is stale and crap in its current state for a reason. that is because Bungie is not focusing on its current issues. but consider this. What if Bungie is leaving their own game in the crap purposefully so that they can focus all their manpower onto destiny 2 to fix all of their mistakes and problems with the original destiny, only leave breadcrumbs of content (Crimson Days) so fans can at least see a light at the end of the tunnel. This would explain why destiny is so bad right now, only so bungie can revamp the entire game (like reconstructions of certain in game systems, such as levelling and questing, whilst scrapping others like reforging and etheric light ascending). This would mean year 1 things would be deleted and replaced by futureproof systems the playerbase can rely on... Take HoW for example... Etheric light ascension was never meant to fix the game until the end of destiny, it was only meant to fix the problems that arose then. I think Bungie is going to replace short term systems like these with longer term systems like the infusion system that we currently have. Imagine what I just said applied to everything, patrols, crucible and raids etc. this would take lots of effort on Bungies part but ultimately we would have a game that is truly what it was meant to be at launch day...
