Its better to be matched based on skill, its not fun to just steamroll every team you meet (well, it is, but it's not fun at all to be the one getting steamrolled). PvP isn't supposed to be easy, its supposed to be a challenge, and the only way for it to be a challenge is to play against people your own skill level. How is it fair that lower skilled players always have to play with people way above their level simply because of randomly selected teams to play against each other? While I agree it may take the fun of stomping on less skilled teams, it adds fun for the majority of players who struggle to compete with more skilled teams.
