The cabal have finally cracked how to hack the vex timegates and used them to their own advantage. Now you guardian have been sent along with a fireteam to Mars to investigate their actions and take down the large base using the gates. You take control of a gate and are given the task to shut it down but then find out that it is running from the other side. You must go into the timegate to find its point of operation and unexpectedly end up on the cabal home planet whose origin and name are unknown. You are lured into the lair of the emperor (of course fighting his head generals along the way) and finally are led into a Valus Ta'aurc like boss fight with the larger than life enemy.
