Three of Coins not working
So the other day I got a pack of the 3 of Coins from Xür and I used 2 yesterday and 3 today. Not only did I not get exotic engrams, but I didn't get any, and neither did the friends I was playing with not a single engram during the time the 3 of Coins modifier was active. Not even a green. I don't know why, all I know is that it didn't give me anything from Skola, Crota, the Warpriest or the Crucible and Iron Banner.
It's ridiculous and I know Bungie won't "refund" or send a pack of 3 of Coins back, but they can at least look at my account, isolate the problem and then fix the bug because this was kinda frustrating to just assume it was a random chance that the 3 of Coins disabled engrams, then find out it did it for the entirety.
I have gotten engrams while the modifier was inactive however, though that is totally unrelated.

Bungie states: When players use a Three of Coins consumable, this provides a 50% increase to the base chance of being rewarded an Exotic Engram upon activity completion So, 3 of coins does work. if your base chance is 0, 50% of 0 is zero.

I've used 15 three of coins and I didn't get one exotic 😑

He averages about 1 in 5 and has yet to go 8 with 0 drops. He also frequently has rare and legendary engrams decrypt up to exotics. I on the other hand have had rare & legendaries pop exotic maybe a half dozen times in all my time playing, and average about 1 exotic engram every 8-12 coins. I'm currently at 21 coins popped since 2 days ago and only 2 exotic drops. He has had 2 drop in the last 4 hours. So it has nothing to do with time played, or rng, or percentage increase over progressive duds; as bungo claims. It seems more likely that a player's likelihood of yielding exotics is based upon an rng roll at each character's creation, that doesn't change thereafter regardless of modifiers. Which is utter bullshit. Whether that speculation is true or not, the mechanic is definitely broken. Otherwise my success:failure rate would change if not daily then assuredly at every weekly reset, not remain piss-poor for months on end.

I too haven't been able to get anything from 3ofC since the dawning came out, and why doesn't Xur sell the 3ofC anymore?

I've also noticed this and it is very annoying and time consuming in my opinion. After spending those strange coins and then not getting anything is a waste of time sadly.

Haven't had a drop in days, gone through 100's. Drops have been off since the last patch

Anybody who tells you it's random or RNG is full of it or isn't fully comprehending the issue. That's a cop out for " we want to look important and look like we know what's going on". Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there's some algorithm used to make it appear random but whatever they are using, it's broken. I ran my averages by an old college Prof buddy of mine who's doctorate is in mathematics. His reply was get a life, then after a laugh, explained that yes something is definitely wrong. Plus, today just for an experiment, I dropped 20 for 1 strike, I got a single blue engram.

Im an avid gamer. Playing since before n64. I used to get 1 in 5 exotics to coins. Not its more like 10. After studying all exotic armor pieces i fixed on getting the alpha lupi. For cosmetics and the revival rate since i fancy myself a team player. Since i can only equip 1 at a time (which im fine with, it creates strategy) I have played over 12 full days since Xmas. Using 3 of coins and quests I have obtained every exotic armor piece for the hunter, multiple times for most of them, except the alpha lupi. The only 1 I wamt, I can't get. Now using 3 of coins 18 times and getting 1 exotic makes this task not only unenjoyable, but torturous. It shouldn't take months to get lucky. If destiny was a women, not putting out like this. I'd be gone already. And this is a game, not a woman. It's hard for me to justify to myself staying In this game when I wouldn't put up with this from an hour glass babe with a rich father.

1 RispondiSame prob with me, i have used 30= 3 of coins over 3 days nothing , plus 20 over the days before nothing , i did do 2 wks before and its just gone off whether i have over done it , i don't know ,

Yeah, me too. Before, I could avg an exotic every 5-7 TOC, now, I've used 11, nothing. Not to mention not keeping us informed about anything, no announcements keeping us informed as to what to expect, the crappy way year one players were done and a whole litany of complaints I don't even want to get into.

I've popped literally 55-60 Three of coins with ONE exotic drop. Bungie needs to get it together, I'm losing interest in this game fast. What's the point of scraping and saving strange coins, using them on Three of Coins in hopes to get some decent exotics... And it doesn't work? I'm beyond frustrated.

I get one engram for every 15-20 coins I use. What a frustrating bunch of bullshit this game is.

since January 15th I've used approximately 45 three of coins and have received two exotics. Before Jan 15 I was at least averaging one exotic for every 8-10 coins... What gives?

1 RispondiMine haven't been working either, but my problem is that I'll pop one, complete a strike, and it won't use the buff. I'll kill the boss and still have the exotic particle buff. Super frustrating to spend 15 minutes on a strike for nothing

I have used over 67 three of coins and not one exotic!!! My dad uses 2 three of coins and he gets a exotic that turns into 310 each time. Bungie why do you hate me?!?!

Ive gone threw 20 3 of coins without a drop. My normal is 1 drop per 5 coins. Whats going on Bungie?!?!?!?!

1 RispondiOut of the last 10 exotics that I've had drop, -blam!-ing one was a 310. I just burned through about 20 coins and one -blam!-ing exotic dropped....290. This is absolute bullshit. What a -blam!-ing waste.

I've burned at least 40 coins, not a single exotic drop. They appear to be glitched, only working for specific people. With these kind of rolls, my xbox has better luck getting struck by lightning while winning the lottery and becoming a sentient being.

2 RisposteThey worked exceptionally well for me this weekend. Popped 1 during iron banner. Got exotic Popped 1 in nightfall at sol progeny. Got exotic Popped 1 in nightfall at Valus. Got exotic Popped 1 on mars vs taken champ. Got exotic Popped 1 in nightfall (other character) at Valus. Got exotic Went 5 for 5
