You know what I figured out? If Destiny didn't have raids and a semi-decent crucible it would burn. This game has absolutely no story telling except for in the recent expansion. Since I have done the raid a lot now I no longer play Destiny except for when things like Trials and Iron Banner show up. Did I think Sparrow Racing was a neat trick? Sure. However I would've preferred a message in the postmaster that leads you through a short maybe 20 minute movie that actually explains Destiny and its' lore. Instead of having the community struggle to comprehend the game like the OP.
Not trying to offend you Arbiter, you did a really good job here. :D

Ok just stop, if destiny doesnt have a story then I must Not have been born. Destiny has probly one of the biggest story lines in all of game history. The story is patchy and here and there and hard to figure out but thats the fun part and part of the reason destiny is so popular. If you havnt noticed the amount of grimore cards there are and havent see videos of people going though destinys game files finding guns that havnt been released or the one were the twilight garrison and the tarantula were found in the game files over a month before they were put in the game. the story isnt over. There are more expansions in the future that will bring even more answers but also just as many questions. I trust bungie to finish this story. ( and hopefully they make like a movie or something like they did for halo.

Alright. So let me get this straight. The original Destiny, no expansions has a story. Where's the satire tag on your comment? Listen the original story of Destiny is you get resurrected by a Ghost (you don't know what that is at first) created by the Traveler (basically a floating white ball that you never see do anything except hover). Next you get attacked by the Fallen (WOAH a alien I know nothing about that... scavenge and... plunder I guess?)(They don't really have a great leader except the so called darkness, woah magical). So basically after that you go and do horde mode missions over and over and occasionally you fight a boring bigger version of a enemy you've already fought before. The other aliens are basically the same except for the Vex because they talk about how they can time travel! Woah! Soo wait if they can time travel why are we fighting? The Vex already know anything and everything that is going to happen. How come they have not created some type of guardian murder machine? The Speaker then answers I could tell you, but I won't. Then we get to grimoire cards. Oh how I HATE those. Here let me leave my game to go read this online bull shit and try to make some since of this failed game. -blam!- no. Grimoire cards are the stupidest shit I have ever seen come from a game company. Yeah I guess we could create a functioning story but -blam!- it will just make a bunch of cards and leave the community to spend hours trying to make since of the game. Even though it never does make since. I might even be ok with it if there was a in-game lore book. Nope! Notice how I said there was no story telling or story until TTK. Bungie has taken a great step with TTK and I hope the future expansions are just the same. However they still need to explain original Destiny. Because the story sucks shit.

What I don't get is why everyone is dismissing destiny for a horrible games solely because of the story. Dark souls and blood born have 0 story and everyone loves those games. I can understand why some don't like it but some hate it solely on its lack of story, yet they love dark souls. I bet many of them haven't even read the grimore cards. I u

and destiny is like the new and improved legend of zelda with better graphics and different longer lasting story with side quests and guns instead of a hook shot or a bow and arrow, and a melee instead of a sword and a grenade instead of a bomb! and Zelda had a story as good as destiny and look where that brought nintendo, it's one of their top paying games, because it's so good, and yeah it has a lot of going back and forth from place to place but so does destiny and you have to admit it everyone love the legend of zelda, so let me ask a simple question... why hate on destiny so much, they're gonna reveal more to the story and MAYBE EVEN THE IDENTITY OF WHO THE NINE ARE!!!!!!!!!!

Yo, Fromsoft games have an insane depth to the stories (main stories AND character lore); they don't jam it down your throat like other games. They just require dedicated observation and thought to piece together. Kind of like Destiny, but with environmental details instead of Grimoire

Dark Souls does have a story and it is a completely different type of game. It also has unique boss fights.

the grimoire has depth, and i love watching videos on lore, my only let down is that it's not fully integrated into the game, imagine a lore library at the tower!!! could sit there for hours

well me knowing my friend Edward he and I would go on our warlocks and sit there reading -blam!-in novels filled with info on the story day and night until we've read every single last book in the lore and they'd maybe be like around five thousand pages long with around a hundred fifty words per page, and it would be worth it if we can't stand after sitting for hours on end reading in fact we probably could,t even sit right either

yeah some type of arrangemet or organisation that made it easy to interpret, but its definitely something the community wants, there is so much awesome lore in this game they just dont tell the story in game and leads a lot of people to say the story is shit, the videos of watched on the book of sorrows told a wicked story

It's fine. I myself haven't been super happy with how the story is presented but I get some good fun out of making these theories. It's like back when FNAF was consuming the internet, I got all over that.

yep, always gotta thank the internet, and trust me, more info on the nine will be revealed soon in a few more DLC's, how know you ask? simple I know some people who work on destiny and give me updates and everything, but I already know about the nine and who they are, I just can't say or it'll ruin the fun in making theories for people, but I will say this though. "when an evil king is killed... A queen will take his place, or maybe a god or demigod" "and when a conflux is destroyed... creatures of time will rise upon us all"
