The vex machines.
they infect Mercury, Venus, and Mars and likely earth if the traveler wasn't there.
The Jovians are unaffected by the vex corruption because of their composition(maybe). The vex can't take them over, making the Jovians the ones who should orchestrate the events that we witness.
