Another line from Cayde is "Im not one for fancy speeches but." Which is not true. His speech to Amanda Holiday was fancy. This is just lazy writing. I had my little sister play Destiny today and she asked "The Halo guys made [i]this[/i] ?" She was bored as hell and didnt pay attention to anything the characters were saying.
