Another short story. My Science teacher (same bloke) was doing a science experiment for Halloween where you light a jack o'lantern using a small explosion (basically the eyes and mouth pop out and wick inside lights up). But old mate added a little too much gas and ended up causing a much bigger explosion. The whole school was rattling. He was just lucky he had a blast shield up otherwise he would've ended up in the ER.
