Dude k/d is a good method. When I play against someone with a 1.5+ k/d i get beat 1v1 8/10 times.
When I play against people with a 1.0 k/d i beat them 8/10 times.
There are exceptions to this rule but overall k/d is the best. Combat rating penalizes rage quitting largly. And I always quit laggy matches.
