The important things to do as an author though is 1) Make sure you have your own voice (people will be able to tell if you've taken influence from another author) 2) Make your characters 'human' (make sure they have flaws, and strengths aka make them likable/believable.)

Yeah! I remember my first fanfiction...... IT SUCKED!! XDD After a year or so, my writing improved and my most recent story is more popular than all of my stories combined!
