Because the current gaming community we have is the reason why we have to deal with micro-transactions and over-hyped, under-delivering games.

On a totally serious note i believe that has more to do with the way corporations are today and that revenue will almost always be placed above the needs and wants of the gamer. And they found something that works very well for those purposes and implemented it in the structure of the game. We can not buy the game. But. Well sheeeet. Not buy a sweet game from my favorite dev? Cant pass. Especially when all my friends play it too and its fun AF
