If you said that the series was getting progressively worse, I'd agree with you. But there's only been two developers, Bungie and 343i. And there's has been more than 5 games, at least 6 with full multiplayer support (Reach). Of course there's also ODST and Halo Wars (which I loved actually and can't wait for the sequel).
[spoiler]And I think you meant to say MIA Master Chief. Spartans never die[/spoiler]
Edit: Halo Wars was made by a third developer, forgot. Still I doubt you were including Halo Wars

It is No rage No squeaker kids No try hards No OP or Noob strategies It was perfect Only good players and smart, strategic ones could win Anyone who tried but wasn't that always failed in the missions

Wasn't exactly the best Halo, however it did raise the bar for real time strategy games.
