Don't think of it as pacing you to keep you playing more. Think of it as pacing you because 99% of the community is addicted to destiny like it's -blam!-ing crack cocain. They are saving you from you.

but that is exactly what it is, pacing me to keep me on their game and not to move on to better games. More I play Destiny the more I wanna go back to FF14 lol. At least they didn't get rid of old content just made it easier to beat with each add on lol
