I got a 300 ghost shell and a 300 class item while all my characters already have over that. Watched a clan mate get a 306 helm while I was wearing a 293 rare quality. Smart loot my cojones.

The game isn't going to give you 310 gear every time you do anything. I'm 290ish light and I get countless 260 blues, should I stop trying to get any rewards from anywhere because it isn't 310?

So, here is your problem. You assume I expected 310 gear. Not at all the case. You also are comparing the random rare quality gear you get from engrams and strikes to nightfall rewards? Horrible comparison. I'm only saying that I am a little let down with Bungie's so called "smart loot" system. For doing something THEY regard as one of the more challenging activities, I at least would like it to actually analyze my current gear set, and give me something useful, not 3 legendary marks. Rng is Rng though.
