I definitely understand the gripe that some of these "secret missions" are only coming up during weekdays, or even worse on specific days only. Some people don't play everyday and some people only play on weekends. But I don't see why Bungie releasing stuff over time is bad. It keeps people playing and keeps them coming back. That's good for everybody. Otherwise you would hear either "finished the game in a week and got all the exotics...nothing to do" or else "nobody plays this game anymore because all the stuff has been done a million times". Also, is it really bad that you have to wait a week for an item? Gotta have it right now because...? Like I said, it keeps you coming back, which is good for everybody.
