I don't think many of you understand. The "well it's RNG, deal with it or stop playing" brigade. You people are utter morons, a significant part of weekly events have literally no point to them. The XP/Rep buff is gone and the drops are still shit. The nightfall is 90% a complete waste of time. Yet this is ok to you?
Edit: People still don't get it, you can just BUY three of coins. Why perform a weekly activity when it's going to give you easily obtained consumables? What is the point in making it a nightfall at all when you get better gear from just doing heroic strikes. Consumables shouldn't be in the loot table, neither should strange coins unless it's going to be a lot.

Ever since Taken King, these Nightfalls have been so not worth it. I heard they were going to fix the loot table and was so relieved. Till i read the patch notes... Increase of legendary drops?! Who the -blam!- cares about legendary drops? Who does Nightfalls for Legendary drops? Unless you're doing Nightfalls to catch up to Raid tiers...it's not worth it. Even then it's still not. Because they increased the drop rate for legendaries, AND added ghost shells (Seriously? Ghost shells? Were people itching to get crappy shells from Nightfalls? I GOT 2 BACK TO BACK.) this DECREASED the chance for an exotic. So...why bother? I'm waiting for the update that makes Nightfalls "Feel like an accomplishment". You know...part of the reason they removed the buff? Where is that update? Till then...won't waste my time on crap RNG.

7 RisposteConsidering you can get 2-3 exotics from 3oC that's a great drop. If you get exotics at 310 you're even luckier. Infuse those and get higher light.

The Nightfall is worthless and the weekly heroics are equally bad, especially when you consider Legendary Marks were only useful the first two weeks of TTK. Once you build a surplus, they are useless and there is no reason to to run a weekly. Just play a daily to infuse a couple pieces of gear and move on. My issues with the Nightfall are these: 1) No more faction rep. Bring back the 500 faction rep. Same with the weekly heroic. 500 per character. 2) No more radiant light and XP boost. 3) Underwhelming rewards. With "infuse" as a leveling means and being able to complete the Raid, I do not need to acquire lower level gear from a Nightfall. Legendary armor drop increased? I don't need legendary armor. Three legendary marks don't interest me. 3 of Coins are purchasable. 12 Strange Coins aren't worth the effort. I unlocked all of the year one exotics, so I have already purchased a year 2 equivalent of anything useful (that's right, the new exotic armor is garbage). Telesto and Supercell are literally the only worthwhile weapons that are RNG, not quest related. And Xur will sell them before long. 4) Duplicate rewards. And I mean duplicate. Here's what "RNG" has blessed with: 2 x Hawkmoon (already had two) 1 x Obsidian Mind (already had three) 1 x Heart of the Praxic Fire (already had one) 1 x Crest of Alpha Lupi for my Titan (already had 2) 12 x Strange Coins And the rest escape me. Probably legendary garbage that was instantly dismantled. In year one, I valued the Nightfall Accordingly: 50% Faction Rep 25% Radiant Light 15% Exotic Drop 10% Booby Prize (Dragon's Breath, NLB, Legendary Engram - anything for a laugh with my friends) When TTK dropped, I was hungry for anything that wasn't rare armor and the Nightfall had promise. Now that I have full legendary gear and get my infusibles from the raid, what's the point? I can't get faction rep, which was half the reason to play the Nightfall to begin with (I want them shaders and ships!!!) and I can't get radiant light. And let's face it, once you lose the first two things, booby prizes are a piss-off and a duplicate Obsidian Mind is maddening. Nightfalls have no value. And this is coming from a day-one player that has been wrecking Nightfalls since Valus Ta'aurc first reared his ugly head as a 28 Ultra. Anyhow, what I am really trying to say is BUMP!!!

If you only had a little time to play this week and only chose the NF then this may have been a really good drop for you if you were out of strange coins. Would you rather have had a crappy legendary you would just dismantle?

I've seen fantastic rewards from me and my friends. Me- 17 and 18 strange coins and a 297 rocket to infuse into something. My friends- 309 ghost. 305 gauntlets. 303 auto rifle.

Not a waste of time anymore in my opinion. I'd even be glad to get 10 three of coins because that's 1 or 2 free exotics. Previously I was getting 280 legendary stuff that I'd immediately dismantle. Now I can at least infuse the stuff I don't want.
