He has no designated House. He is a lone mercenary hired by many different Houses. At the time that Destiny takes place, Taniks is hired by the House of Wolves and brought upon their Ketch in the Hellmouth.

As described in the game it is Darkness, an unknown force that is seeking the destruction of Light. However, many players believe that Light is the antithesis of life because of the many bits of lore that point to the Traveller starting the Collapse and being an evil entity.
