Quick question:
I'm playing through Halo 3 right now, and was wondering what Cortana's "solution"? As far as I know, you can't defeat the Flood without firing the rings. Was her plan just to hide out in the ark?

Modificato da Mr Admirals7044: 10/28/2015 4:48:35 AMWe actually don't know. Based on cut Halo 3 dialogue, that was the solution. But 343i's taken advantage of the ambiguity of the "solution" and have foreshadowed it had nothing to do with the Halo, but rather the Ark.

[spoiler]the flood isn't completely gone,most of them are.During the fight on the ark,the flood crashed into the ark on High Charity.This was to stop the activation of the halo rings.But cortana had a way to cause a localized blast,meaning the firing radius will only be as big as the ark I believe.When the UNSC and covenant separatists escaped after activating this blast,the flood was left on the ark.The blast killed all flood present on the ark and severely damages the installation.Even so,the flood isn't completely gone.[/spoiler]

But she said her plan involved not firing any rings. Which they eventually do. I guess it was just an oversight or something.
