Number one - it's not "breastfeeding cancer". That implies that breastfeeding is how one would get it, which is ridiculous.
Number two - I've known a couple of people who have had breast cancer. The survival rate in those instance was 50%. So your stat doesn't hold up in my personal experience. And that will be different for everyone. Some may never have it impact them. I envy those people and really wish there were more of them.
The entire point of my post is that someone made a gesture that should have been perceived as goodwill and positive, allowing the community to support (or not) a worthwhile cause using a vehicle that is easily identifiable (the pink ribbon campaign), and the comment to it was posted in a manner that simply blew it off completely:

Why bother posting this at all? Is there some point to it that is missed by this? What is the gain to being dismissive in this instance? Anything? I seriously doubt it. I felt my response equaled the statement based on its relative merit, so I posted it.
