Stay near the back of the ship. I use focused burst but it doesn't matter what you use for warlock there. That's more of a timing issue. Most people sprint and jump forward (like they're in a long jump), you need to jump a little sooner then you think and jump more for verticality not distance. You can jump mostly straight up (think space ship launch trajectory) and let the ship scoop you onto it. That jump is a pain so I don't really give people too much flak for missing it. Also keep mida in your inventory if you're really having trouble and max your warlock agility out. Those 2 things usually get someone by that spot in a couple attempts if they're stuck.
