I think BungieVision vastly prefers to use the stick over the carrot, unfortunately.
After all, why bother incentivizing with features you have to spend time and money to develop, when you can punish people for not being early adopters of new content by implementing artbitrary, bullshit lockout strategies, which cost virtually nothing?

Yeah. Also doesn't help at all that people keep spending money on the franchise, either. I mean we could really sit here and complain till we're blue in the face, but without ample reason for like, say, Activision to really care? There isn't much hope of any meaningful long term changes being made to the very serious problems still plaguing the game.
