Most of those apply to almost every weapon in Destiny. It's never been competitive and no matter how much they nerf everything, it never will be.

I beg to differ. The recent 2.0 patch has made Destiny a lot more skill based and fun, not to mention vanilla PvP had every gun besides fusion rifles balanced and could definitely be competitive.

Really? In my experience the game still aims for you, and the latest attempt at balance is just vanilla except everything now sucks in PvE and shotguns have replaced fusion rifles.

I suppose it's not so much that everything "sucks" and more that it's all worse with no significant changes to balance (apart from mid impact pulse rifles which needed that buff). Hand Cannon and Auto Rifle range was fine in vanilla, Scouts still beat them on the two long maps, and being able to hit things reliably at medium range kept shotguns in check. The special ammo nerf would have sorted the fusion rifle problem without the need to neuter them. Still haven't tried Hawkmoon as I'm on Xbox. Bad Juju is pretty much the same but it kicks more and is only really "good" because everything else was brought down to its level.
