So much for my old gear I guess.
So far The Taken King is fun, but it really irks me how useless my old gear is becoming. Anything that isn’t being “carried over” to year two is noticeably worse than even a lot of the new blue (rare) gear, with no way of updating your old gear so it can remain competitive. I happen to like my original Future War Cult armor, and would like to keep using it.
After all the hype the P.R. team did during House of Wolves making sure “your old legendaries will still be viable” with the ascending system, the whole 180 this time around with no support for most of the old gear is really annoying.
I guess taking away player choice is their idea of "learning" from year one Destiny.

Blues? Shit, I've got some GREENIES that replaced my old stuff. I need to just trash all my old crap, but I'm having a hard time throwing away previously great weapons I've been using since day one, grinded countless hours for, and spent tons of motes rerolling till I got it perfect. I get that they want you to use more stuff, and that's fine... Make at least the old stuff SLIGHTLY less powerful. Sorry, but friggin greens should never replace raid gear for gawd's sake. It's a little ridiculous.

I miss my stuff so much. It killed me to put down my Bad Juju for a blue gun. Hopefully it won't be so bad on my other characters, haven't had them long enough to have grown attached to anything.

6 RisposteI still use my Osirs gear in Crucible. I still have all my raid gear and use them when I'm raiding Crota's end/ Vog. The old gear isn't gone, just taking a back seat.
