Highlight reels only show the good stuff. A Montage usually has a little of everything shown in a way to make it portray your progress as you improve.
So it starts off with you sucking and finishes with some of the footage I saw here.

Compilations can be a bunch of good or bad clips. They're always similar though. So you technically have a compilation too.
