Honestly I wasn't as upset about the legendaries initially. The selective exotic ascension was what really didn't sit right with me. But I agree with you, I don't see how ascending our purples hurts the game. If they can't figure out how to outdo fatebringer that isn't the player's issue. Unfortunately though if they did allow us to continue ascension they would probably nerf our favorites to allow current content to remain relevant.

I'm not so upset with the exotic ascension. The only one I am upset by is the fact that the last word will be ascending. I believe that even post nerf the last word will be alittle too much in things like trials and iron banner

Well and also you think about it, why even choose to make new weapons that are intended to essentially be the same thing as the Fatebringer? They COULD just keep the Fatebringer as is in the role that it serves and instead introduce NEW TYPES of weapons like they are doing with these Heavy Weapon class Swords for people. Innovation vs. Obsolesence
