More is usually better than less, unless your talking roaches or gas prices. While having more variety with our gear, it would also help motivate Bungie to design better, more useful, gear to persuade us to put down our older toys. By removing the old, you are just limiting choice along with no guarantee that the newer stuff would be anywhere near as good (looking at you PoE). Why not put the choice in the guardians hands, if the new gear is worthwhile we WILL use it.......but if it's not we still have a fall back to the original. Seriously, some of the raid gear took a long time for many to gather and most remains some of the best in the game. One of the charms of BL2 was the huge variety of weapons that kept you coming back to get that perfect gun. I'd love that option in Destiny.
