As happy as I am to hear this from a major publication, it doesn't negate last weeks tell tale sign with the Ghorn "staying at year 1 levels" which potentially spells doom for all the other exotics yet to be confirmed as carryover. I'll reserve the victory cigar for the day Bungie blatantly comes out and says "all year 1 exotics will carry over to year 2 attack and defense levels" or something along those lines.
