Don't Worry About It
It's solved, so don't worry about it. It turns out it was a really big misunderstanding on my part. I was wrong about what happened. Don't worry about it and just click on a different post.

I think you're confusing the origin of emblems. I'm also pretty confident in that no moderator would do the things you described. I'm less familiar with the mentors but I would assume they got that label for being helpful.
