Not exactly sure where to put this, out of choices like community. So I'm putting it here. Judging by the weekly update that was released, having the picture of the post have the Vaults in the background made me curious. As you read along the update, at some point we all notice that it says "don't dismantle anything just yet" or something fairly similar. Due to all of these linking things there are a few possibilities: 1. We are getting a large increase in Vault Space, may only be for the newer generation of consoles. 2. We are getting a sort of "safe" to keep our Year 1 weapons in as trophies or memorials. 3. The weapons we earn will be used to get us newer versions of the guns. Kind of like the Dark Belowversion of Xur, when you cash in the FateBringer, you would get the newer Vault of Glass Hand Cannon. Shot in the dark, but possible nonetheless. Keep in mind this is always just speculation, and I hope someone at Bungie sees this post to perk interest about it becoming a thing in the future or them just knowing that some of the fan base caught onto some clues left behind.
