The only argument you can make saying the Messenger is better is that it has a burn. If HP had a burn, it'd be better hands down. The only categories it beats HP in is range and reload speed (base stats). The majority of people who owns both guns say HP is better mainly because you can reforge it. Plus, it shoots like a laser. You can reroll it to where it does 51 damage; the Messenger cannot.

No it doesn't my friend. The Messenger has more range, I'm sure of it. Not sure about reload speed like I mentioned earlier. But I've compared both guns plenty of times and the Messenger has longer range.

My hp has rangefinder on it so the range is better on the hp. Braced frame and third eye for the other two perks and it's a beast in pvp.

With both guns at base stats, the Messenger has more range. Yeah, your Pilgrim has better range only because you reforged it.
