So, here's a thought: If the new gear coming with TTK is so damn good, wouldn't that encourage players to move away from Year 1 gear? If this is the case, then there is no reason to leave behind old gear. Players will move onto new gear if it's better than their old gear. There are multiple reasons Bungie is doing this: It forces players into new content. Bungie doesn't have to worry about their new gear competing with old gear. It potentially solves the storage space issues. (Why keep old gear if it's under powered?) It's diabolically genius. I emphasize the [b]DIABOLICAL[/b].
