I agree that bans and restrictions should be enforced. I just don't think they should be permanent. Something just bothers me about the idea that someone who enjoys gaming will be ostracized from the gaming world in a system (or whatever) of their choice. I would hope that bans teach them enough, and only under the circumstances of four or more repeated bans would I feel that it is okay to ban someone permanently. But I agree with a need to know when someone has crossed the line. R4pe threats, extreme hate speech, serious murder threats: those aren't the little things.
