And I don't know about anyone else, but I personally feel like a badass when new players look at my Pre-Dark Below weapons and helmet and ask where I got them and I answer "I've been around since the start of this thing." It makes you unique and stand out from all the newbies who are joining the game. The new stuff is great for them, but we old players have immortal status because of the gear that we grinded for back in Year 1. Trying to demean the value of that gear by making it "not as strong" damage-wise compared to the new stuff is just an asshole move that makes the past year totally pointless in the long run.
