Read your edit before I posted. You still don't understand how expansions work in MMO's and I don't think gear should follow you from day 1 to the end.

Then it is the diablo of shooters. You can't take old gear forward. You can get the same gear again at a higher level though. No reason to keep looting and shooting if you already have max guns with nothing else better to get.

Even if it was an MMO, theres nothing stopping Bungie doing things differently. A retarded gear system isn't the only thing that makes an MMO an MMO :)
