There most certainly is a sexism issue. Sure, some of it was just assholes being assholes. I don't know that I could break out any kind of percentages for you, but a lot of the garbage that was being flung at the Dames was most certainly sexist. To say otherwise is just ignorant. Now the question becomes why someone would defend that kind of behavior because, "hey it's the internet." It is a -blam!-ing cop out. Saying that "people treat me like shit, so it should be okay to treat them like shit" is the worst possible response that you could have to something like this.
