It's The Internet, Get Over It is a really dumb excuse for that sort of behavior. There are ways to critique performance without coming off as a slack-jawed knuckle dragger. I also don't buy the whole if it happened to men, no one would mind argument because there is a difference between trash talk and straight up harassment. That is not acceptable no matter who it happens to. Distance and anonymity breed false bravery.
